Myths and Legends

We are learning how to:

• Relate the meanings of written text to personal experiences.
• Write our own myth or legend based on ideas gained through reading and discussing.

TASK 1: Make a record of a range of different myths and legends you have read or watched (AT LEAST 5). TIP:  They need to be GREEK, MAORI and POLYNESIAN.   NOTE: You can choose how you present this (Either a poster, slide or a  doc).	What I need to do: Title (Name of myth or legend.) Which country did the myth or legend come from. 3 or 4 sentences explaining what the myths were trying to explain and what happened. Include pictures of main characters, setting etc.
TASK 2: From the Greek, Maori and Polynesian myths and legends build up a chart of gods/goddesses.	What I need to do: Do a character description chart for each god/goddess. What are the similarities and differences between some of the GREEK, MAORI and POLYNESIAN myths and legends.
TASK 3: Create your own myth or legend about how a local landform was created eg. mountain, river or a lake.	What I need to do: Make your own myth or legend up to explain how a local landform was created. This can be written or spoken. NOTE:  If it is spoken, you need to RECORD yourself telling your myth or legend.
TASK 4: Retell your favourite myth or legend.	What I need to do: In your own words retell your favourite myth or legend. This can be presented however you want eg. comic strip, book, slide, doc, animation, story bird etc.

EXTRAS FOR FAST FINISHERS:

• Produce a comic strip for another myth or legend. REMEMBER to use appropriate speech bubbles.
• Create a character mask.
• Turn a myth or legend into a play.
• Make finger puppets and write your own show based on  a myth or legend.

Reflective

Today I have been learning how to properly post a blog that makes sense. My friend had to take the time to read every post I have done. He keeps on saying that there are too much spelling mistakes. Also most of them are shorter than Honekai's comments because they are only 1 sentence long like my blog posts. Next time I should work on my length of the blog and the spelling of words.

Today we learnt how to use clocks. We learned that 12 hours is half a day and another 12 hours is the rest of the day. That makes it 24 hours in a day and a night. That right there is 9 o clock how do I know because the blue is on the 12 and the red one is on 9 so it is 9.00 o clock.

on November the 21 me and my group went by room 6 and Mrs was tethering as i song about 4 times tables it goes like this 4 8 12 16 20 24 28 32 36 40 and when we got it we went a cross the round to song it to the world when we came back from we songs it to our class.
